Back Alley is a card game, sometimes referred to as Back Alley Bridge or Back Street Bridge that originated from the military, probably sometime during World War II. The game is a mix of euchre and spades. The goal is to win tricks each hand, but you have to bid how many you think you can win. The more accurate your bid, the more points you receive. The game starts with 7 cards dealt to each player, and will progressively deal down to 1 card per player, then deal all the way back up to 7 cards per player.
